Joanne Smith has dedicated the last several years to bringing Hope and Healing to those who have experienced the sudden and unexpected death of their loved ones. Through the unexpected and tragic death of their own son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter and grandson, Joanne, with the help of her husband of 44+ years, has made Hope and Healing Ministries a priority in her life. Speaking at “Celebrate Recovery Groups, jail ministries, juvenile detention centers, women’s retreats, Bible study groups and “4 the Solution” a non-profit organization. This organization goes to junior/senior high schools to speak to students about drug and alcohol abuse and suicide prevention. Joanne shares her story and the ways God has brought her out of the deep and agonizing pit of grief.
Joanne has also taped videos on topics such as, “What Not to Say to Those Who Are Grieving”, “The Grieving Process as I Understand It”. You can view her speaking engagements on topics such as, “Emotional Idols”, “No Promise of Tomorrow”, and “Transform Your Suffering”.
Joanne also wrote a little booklet entitled, “But God…”. Using her love of journaling and photography, she shared her story about how God gave her Hope and Healing amidst the suffering of the death of her family.
Born and raised in Binghamton, New York, Joanne now resides in Utah with her husband, Larry, a retired Air Force officer, and their daughter, Rhonda.
